Description

This memorial, located 3 metres south-east of the parish church door, is a recumbent cross slab with a headstone dating from the mid-13th century. Made of sandstone, the slab features traces of an incised bracelet cross with a stepped calvary, and the headstone is roughly shaped in the form of a cross. If both the slab and headstone remain in their original position, they represent a very rare survival of a composite medieval churchyard monument.
