Description

The remains of a churchyard cross, dating from the late 13th century, are located about 15 metres north of the north aisle door of the Church of St Peter. This cross is made of red sandstone and features a square one-stage calvary with an octagonal socket that has steeply broached corners. The base of the octagonal tapering shaft is similar in design and the shaft itself is broken near the neck, standing at approximately 2 metres high. This structure is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 323).
