Description

The churchyard cross, located in the churchyard 9 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Martin, dates back to the early 14th century. It is made of dressed sandstone and features three worn circular steps, which were likely originally octagonal. The cross has a plain square socket with obliquely chamfered alternate angles and a tapering shaft with chamfered corners. On the east side, there are remains of a figure in a canopied niche, although the head is missing. This cross is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 111).
