10/13 Bridge and gateway approx 750 yards west of Belsay Castle

Bridge and gateway. C18. Dressed stone and ashlar. Bridge has small single segmental arch with low chamfered parapet splayed out at west end. Behind the bridge the gateway screen walls splay outward then form a rectangular enclosure in front of the gate. Walls c.4 ft. high with flat coping. Square gate piers with pyramidal caps.
