Description
The farm buildings to the north of Belsay Dene House date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of dressed stone and feature roofs made of Welsh slate, tile, and asbestos. The layout includes a two-storey rear range with single-storey projecting ranges surrounding an open courtyard.
The rear range serves as shelter sheds with a granary located above. The ground floor features six elliptical arches supported by square piers, although three of these arches are currently blocked. There are outside stone steps leading to the granary above the right arch. On the first floor, there are two nine-pane windows and one twelve-pane sash window.
The left range consists of three byres, each with stable-type doors set in alternating-block surrounds. The right range includes a cart shed and stable, featuring a boarded door facing the courtyard and two segmental arches at the rear. Both ranges have gabled roofs.
