Description
The building known as the byres and granary to the east of Harnham Hall dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The structure is primarily single-storey but becomes two-storey on the right due to the slope of the land, and it has five irregular bays.
On the left side, there are 19th-century double doors leading to a cart shed. To the right, there are four boarded doors set in alternating-block surrounds, each with inscribed lintels that read, from left to right: 1. In a cartouche TL 1799, 2. TLM 1761, 3. TLM 1736. These initials belong to the Leighton family, who owned Harnham from 1702 onwards.
On the right side, stone steps lead up to the granary. The roof is gabled with flat coping and kneelers.
