Description

Milepost at the junction with B6309, dating from around 1830, is made of white-painted sandstone and stands approximately 2 feet high. It has a triangular shape and is inscribed on one face with "TO NEWCASTLE" and on the other face with "TO OTTERBURN 14 MILES" and "13 MILES JEDBRO 42 MILES." There is also a bench mark on the top. The road was surveyed in 1829.
