Description
The garden walls and dovecote located to the south of Nos. 3 and 4 are made of dressed stone, with the date of construction being uncertain. The dovecote features a Welsh slate roof. The walls enclose three sides of the garden, standing approximately 8 feet high on the east and west sides, and lower on the south side, topped with flat coping.
The dovecote, situated in the south-east corner, is two storeys high and consists of one bay. There is a small boarded door on the west side for each floor. The south side has two pigeon holes with stone alighting ledges and is topped with a gabled roof.
Inside, the ground floor has a tunnel-vaulted ceiling supported by two chamfered transverse ribs that strengthen the vault. It is said locally that this space was used as the village mortuary.
