Description

This is a milepost located approximately 400 yards south of Berrington Lodge, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands about 2 feet high. The milepost has a triangular shape with a rounded back. It is inscribed with "WR" for Wooler and "BER" for Berwick, and the sloping top is inscribed with "MOR" for Morpeth.
