Description

This milepost, located about a quarter of a mile north of Lowick Northfield Farm, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands approximately 2 feet high. The milepost has a triangular shape with a rounded back and a canted top. One side is inscribed with "WR" for Wooler, while the opposite side features "BER" for Berwick along with the number 8. The top of the milepost is marked with "MOR" for Morpeth and the number 39.
