Description
Barmoor War Memorial is a war memorial erected in 1920, commissioned by General Sitwell of Barmoor, and designed by an unknown architect. It is made of whinstone and consists of a large block of roughly hewn whinstone set upon three smaller blocks. The memorial stands 8 feet high, 8 feet deep, and 5 feet wide, located by the side of the road near the entrance to Barmoor Castle. The front face features the inscription "1914 -1918". This simple yet striking memorial commemorates the First World War and is listed at Grade II.
