Description

This limekiln, located approximately a quarter of a mile south-west of Old Dryburn, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from random rubble and features three canted sides, each with a tall segmental-arched opening that contains a round-headed drawing arch with a splayed vault. Additionally, there are smaller, lower segmental arches on each return that lead to a tunnel-vaulted cross passage, providing access to the rear of the pot, which is stone-lined.
