Description

Milepost in Ancroft Village, dating from the early 19th century, is made of cast iron. It has a triangular shape with a rounded back and a canted top. One face is inscribed with "Wr" for Wooler, the opposite face has "BER" for Berwick, and the top is marked "MOR" for Morpeth, along with the numbers 11 5 42.
