Description

This is a milepost located approximately 50 yards southwest of the end of St. Cuthbert's Road in Cornhill-on-Tweed. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of cast iron. The post is short and fluted, featuring an oval top with two oval facets. One facet is inscribed with "COR" for Cornhill, and the other with "BER" for Berwick, indicating a distance of 2 miles and 11 miles respectively.
