Description
Melkington House is a house dating from around 1800, although it has an earlier core. It is built of ashlar stone and has a Scottish slate roof. The house features a double span design with a projecting kitchen wing at the rear. It has two storeys and five bays. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door framed by an architrave and topped with a cornice supported by moulded brackets. On the ground floor, there are sash windows, although the intermediate glazing bars have been removed. A band runs along the first floor, which has 12-pane sash windows. The house is adorned with a dentil cornice and has a blocking course above the central bay. The roof is gabled and has been fitted with renewed brick end stacks. The rear span of the house is older and features a more steeply-pitched roof.
