Description
This is a milepost located approximately half a mile south-west of East Newbiggin, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features an oval top with two oval facets on a short fluted post. One side is inscribed with "CORN" (for Cornhill) and the other side reads "BER" (for Berwick) along with the distance of "5 8 MILES."
