Description
The goods warehouse and oil lamp at Norham Station is an engine shed built in 1849 for the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway, which was converted to a goods warehouse in 1852. The structure is made of snecked stone and features a Welsh slate roof. It is a single tall storey with a tall entry at each end, each having a wooden lintel. There are four buttresses with offsets on the right return, and the roof is gabled.
Located 10 yards east of the warehouse is an oil lamp mounted on a wooden post. The lamp is supported by curved brackets and displays the station name on the glass. It features antefixae at the corners and an onion-shaped finial. This information was provided by Mr. Short, the last station master.
