Description

The stable block to Morris Hall is a Grade II listed building dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The structure is arranged in an L-plan around a courtyard, consisting of four ranges.

The main block is single-storey and has five bays on one side and four bays on the other. The long range at the rear includes kennels on the left. There is a segmental arch leading to the tackroom in the second bay, which has a boarded door and a recessed 9-pane sash window. To the right of the tackroom, there are two 6-pane casements and a boarded door leading to the stables. The four-bay range on the right contains a stable on the left with a boarded door and two 6-pane casements, and a carriage house on the right featuring a segmental arch. The roof is hipped.

Opposite the main block is a lower single-storey L-plan range that includes two similar carriage houses and storage space. The entrance is marked by square gatepiers topped with pedimented caps that bear seated dog sculptures.
