Description

HORNCLIFFE NORHAM NT 94 NW 5/66 Stable block to Morris Hall

GV II Stable block. Early-mid C19. Ashlar with Welsh slate roof. 4 ranges round a courtyard.

L-plan main block. Single storey, 5 and 4 bays. Long range to rear has kennels to left. Segmental arch to tackroom in 2nd bay with boarded door and 9-pane sash recessed within. Right of this two 6-pane casements and a boarded door to stables. 4-bay range on right has stable to left with boarded door and two 6-pane casements; carriage house to right with segmental arch. Hipped roof.

Lower single storey L-plan range opposite has 2 similar carriage houses and storage

Square gatepiers with pedimented caps bearing seated dogs.
