Description
This milepost, located approximately 200 yards south-west of East Newburn, dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. It features an oval top with two oval facets on a short fluted post. One side is inscribed with "CORN" (indicating Cornhill) and the other side reads "BER" (indicating Berwick) along with the distance of 7 miles and 6 miles.
