Description
Horncliffe Mains Farmhouse is a house that likely dates from the early 19th century and was remodeled around 1880. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays. It has a plinth, angle pilasters, and bands at the ground and first-floor levels. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with a fanlight, set within a keyed roll-moulded surround. This doorcase is topped by an entablature and supported by rusticated pilasters.
The farmhouse includes single-storey, canted bay windows with six-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are six-pane sashes set in raised stone surrounds. The eaves are decorated with a band and have widely projecting eaves. The roof is hipped and features two large corniced lateral stacks.
