Description
The stable range and attached wall, likely built in the early 19th century, are constructed from roughly-squared stone with cut dressings, except for the north end which features tooled-and-margined stone. The roof is made of Welsh slate. The east elevation has two storeys and four irregular bays. To the left, there is a boarded door with a part-slatted window, and to the right, a 4-pane sash window; additionally, there is a modern garage door on the far left. Two small slatted windows are located beneath the eaves. The gables are coped, with a left end stack that has a chamfered cap and a right end that features a moulded finial.
On the left side, which faces the garden, there is a boarded door and two square-headed recesses in the gable, each containing two arched pigeon holes. The right side, facing the road, displays boarded double doors set under an elliptical arch, with a pitching eye above.
At the south-east corner, a tall wall with flat coping and a boarded door connects to the north-west corner of Whickham House. There is a 20th-century outbuilding with a metal roof on the north side of the wall, and a pent outhouse to the south of the stable range, which are not of special interest.
