Description
The stable range and kennels, located to the north of the yard, were likely built around 1840. The structure is made of roughly-squared stone with tooled and margined quoins and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof that features brick-rebuilt stacks.
The main part of the building is two storeys high and has three bays. The central bay includes a boarded door that opens in the middle, with a boarded opening above it. The right bay has a boarded door with a slit window above, while the left bay features an altered 16-pane sash window with a slit window above it. There is an eaves band, and the gables are coped with a rebuilt ridge stack. The lower bay on the left serves as a bothy, which has a boarded door and a slit vent, along with a coped gable that has an end stack. The far left section contains the kennels, which has three openings with heavy lintels, two of which are arched.
The right return of the building displays an altered 16-pane sash window. The rear elevation features a boarded door, three 9-pane fixed windows, and a slit window on the first floor. The gables are coped, and there are chamfered slit windows. Most openings are framed with chamfered alternating-block surrounds. This building is included for its group value.
