Description

This is a milestone located 200 yards south of the junction with the B6353 in Kyloe, Northumberland. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of cast iron. The milestone has a triangular shape and stands approximately 2 feet 6 inches high with a rounded back. One side is inscribed with "BEL" for Belford, while the other side reads "BER" for Berwick, indicating a distance of 4 1/2 miles. The top of the milestone is marked with "L" for London.
