Description

The Church of St Nicholas is a parish church located in Kyloe, Northumberland. The nave and tower were built in 1792, while the nave was Gothicized in 1868. A porch and chancel were added in 1862, both designed by F.R. Wilson of Alnwick. The nave and tower are constructed of pink ashlar, while the later additions are made of rock-faced ashlar. The roof is covered with Welsh slate.

The church features a nave, chancel, west tower, north vestry, and south porch. The unbuttressed tower has decorative bands at the ground and second floor levels, a concave section at the first floor, and a battlemented parapet. There is one ground-floor 12-pane sash window with an ogee head and pointed-arched bell openings that are louvred. The porch is attached to the tower.

The nave is wide and aisleless, consisting of four bays with a sill band and a concave cornice. Later buttresses have been added, and the windows feature geometric tracery. The apsidal chancel also displays geometric tracery.

Inside, the church has a roof from 1862 that includes arched braces, and there is a Georgian overpanel above the west door.
