Description
Beal House is a house dated 1674, though it has an older core. It has been altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed of random rubble and features a Welsh slate roof.
The house has a double span design, is two storeys high, and consists of three bays, with a later single-storey addition on the left. The central entrance has a Victorian door set in a rusticated surround with two architraves, inscribed with "16 wm 74." Above the entrance is a cornice. To the left, there is a 19th-century canted bay window, while the other windows are sashes with relieving arches above them.
The steeply-pitched gabled roof has flat raised coping and kneelers, with triple conjoined and corniced end stacks. The single-storey addition on the left also features a 19th-century canted bay window. The rear span of the house is similar and includes prominent relieving arches, with several windows showing stumps of mullions. There is a partly-blocked three-light mullioned window on the right return. Inside, some parts of the house have walls that are five feet thick.
