Description

The walls of the former garden to the north of Rock Hall are from the 18th and 19th centuries and include garden walls and attached outbuildings. The north wall and the west wing wall are constructed of brick in Flemish Garden Wall Bond 1 & 3, while the rear faces and other walls are made of coursed rubble with cut stone dressings. The outbuilding has a roof made of Welsh slate and features an irregular plan.

The south wall stands 2.5 meters high and has a doorway with a flat-pointed head and flat coping; it connects to the yard wall of the 'Chapel' at the west end. The similar east wall also has two doorways of the same type, one near the center that has been converted into a window and another at the north end that is now blocked. There is a boarded door set in an alternating-block surround between these doorways.

At the north-east corner, there is a taller castellated section. The long north wall rises to 3.3 meters and has flat coping, featuring two projecting castellated turrets on the outer face that once held furnaces. Each turret has a flat-pointed doorway and blind slits. Further west, there is a taller section of wall backed by a small gabled storehouse with a boarded door in a similar doorway. The wing wall to the west runs south for approximately 20 meters. Beyond this, there is a castellated blind gateway facing north, which has a pointed arch with blind slits above and in the flanking turrets.

The westward continuation of the north wall, which includes an attached cottage, is not of special interest.
