Description
The garden walls and attached outbuildings to the east of Morwick Hall date from the 18th century. They are constructed of brick, featuring alternating pairs of headers and stretchers every third course, with stone dressings. The north wall of the west garden is made of large squared stone with squared rubble at the rear, while the outbuildings have Welsh slate roofs.
In the west garden, which is located immediately east of the Hall, the walls are present on the south, east, and north sides. The north wall extends northward and then returns 45 meters to the east. The south wall has been reduced to a height of 1 meter in the 20th century and includes a gateway with rebated stone jambs at the west end. A similar gateway is found at the south end of the east wall, which features coping that steps up to a height of 3.5 meters. The eastward return of this wall is of similar height and includes a boarded door set in a heavy alternating-block surround near the east end, along with a pent potting shed at the rear. The brick walls are adorned with pilasters and sloped stone coping.
The north wall of the west garden stands 35 meters high and has a central doorway with brick jambs, leading to an attached privy at the west end. The taller stone wall and greenhouse at the far east end are not considered to be of special interest.
