NU 20 SW WARKWORTH MORWICK HALL
12/318 Garden walls to east of Morwick Hall GV II
Garden walls and attached outbuildings, C18. Brick with alternating pairs of headers and stretchers every 3rd course; stone dressings; north wall of west garden large squared stone with squared rubble to rear. Outbuildings have Welsh slate roofs. Plan: west garden, immediately east of Hall, has walls on south, east and north; north wall continues to north and then returns 45 metres to east.
West garden: south wall reduced to 1-metre height in C20; gateway with rebated stone jambs at west end. Similar gateway at south end of east wall, which has coping stepping up to 3.5 metres; eastward return of similar height, with boarded door in heavy alternating-block surround near east end, and pent potting shed at rear. Brick walls have pilasters and sloped stone coping. North wall of west garden. 35 metres high, has central doorway, with brick jambs,and boarded door to attached privy at west end.
Attached taller stone wall and greenhouse at far east end are not of special interest.
