Description
The garden walls located to the east of the house were likely built around 1760, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The internal face is constructed from brick in Flemish bond, featuring three spaced courses of yellow brick on the north side. The external faces are made of coursed rubble with tooled-and-margined quoins. The tall, flat-coped north wall includes three chimneys for the heating system, which are cleverly disguised as ornate leafy stone urns. The east and west walls slope down, with the west wall connecting to the northeast wing of the house. There are fielded-panel doors set in moulded stone surrounds on the east, north, and two on the west sides. The lower south wall has a pier at the west end and a gateway with moulded jambs near the east end, topped with flat coping that features three gadrooned urns and ramps up at the ends. The external face of the north wall displays two furnaces with segmental brick arches. A largely rebuilt terrace wall is present but does not hold special interest.
