Description
Nos. 8 and 10 on the west side of Nunthorpe Village are a pair of cottages built around 1800, with late 19th-century end stacks. They are constructed of brick in English bond and feature a clay pantile roof, which has been renewed at No. 10. The cottages are two storeys high and have three windows. Each cottage has an off-centre doorway; the left doorway has a renewed six-panel door, while the right has a renewed part-glazed door, both sheltered by a common slated hood supported by curved braces. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, with the windows at No. 10 and the ground floor of No. 8 having been renewed. There are gauged-brick flat arches above the ground-floor openings and a moulded wood eaves fascia. An early 20th-century cottage adjoins the left side of No. 10, and there are single-storey rear extensions, but these are not of special interest.
