Description
Dislingbury Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. They are timber-framed, with the ground floor underbuilt or faced with stretcher bond red brick. The cottages feature brick stacks and chimney shafts, topped with a peg-tile roof.
The cottages face south-southeast, with No 1 on the right (east) and No 2 on the left (west). Each cottage has a one-room plan and projecting end stacks. They are two storeys tall, with attics in the roof space and lean-to outshots at the back.
The exterior is not quite symmetrical, featuring a three-window front with late 19th century or early 20th century casements that have glazing bars. The front doorway to No 2 is located to the left of centre, while the doorway to No 1 is around the corner in the right end wall. Both doorways contain late 19th century or early 20th century plank doors. The main roof is half-hipped at both ends.
Inside, there is plain carpentry detail where it is exposed, but the roof has not been inspected.
