Description
The fountain in Ward Jackson Park is an ornamental feature dating from 1902. It is made of cast iron and sits on a stone base within a circular pool that has cast-iron ornamental edging. The fountain has a cruciform base that supports a cylindrical shaft, which is buttressed by four figures of boys riding dolphins, with lion masks positioned between them. Above this, there is a shallow bowl on the stem, and the upper shaft is surrounded by four figures of pelicans. At the top, a small upper bowl is surmounted by a female figure.
