Description
Pangbourne Parkfield, Wrenwood, Parkside, Beechwood, and Highnam is a terrace of houses built in the late 19th century, designed in an Italian style. The buildings are constructed of stucco and feature hipped Welsh slate roofs with ridge stacks and deep bracketed cornices, along with ceramic antefixae. The terrace is three storeys high, with four-storey towers at each end, and consists of twelve bays, with the second and eleventh tower bays being narrower. The ground floor is banded, and there are string courses at each floor level, along with deep bracketed eaves. The windows are sash style, with segmental-headed windows on the second floor. Bays three, four, six, seven, nine, and ten have two-storey canted bays adorned with quasi-classical ornamentation. Paired sash windows are located between and above these bays, all framed in architraves. There are paired porches in bays five and eight, as well as single porches in the tower bays, featuring round rusticated architraves on pilasters with foliate capitals and balustrades above. On the left-hand side return, Jesmond on Grange Road is styled similarly and is part of the overall composition.
