Description
33 Town Wall is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick, which is rendered and scored to resemble ashlar. The building has a mid-20th century concrete tiled roof with a ridge stack. It stands two storeys high with a basement and features two bays. The entrance is an off-centre (left) six-panelled door with an overlight and a flat painted stone surround, which is set beneath a plain frieze and pediment. To the left of the door is a renewed sash window with glazing bars, and above it is a renewed paired first-floor sash window with glazing bars. To the right, there is a mid-19th century canted oriel window with sashes, supported by an inverted tent-shaped corbel, above two renewed ground-floor sash windows with glazing bars. The three-storey rear wing (No 33A) has been altered significantly and is not of interest. The building is included for its group value.
