Description
White Cross Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century and 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble that has been painted white, with a renewed pantiled roof and a brick chimney stack. The cottage is a single-storey, one-bay, square-plan pavilion featuring a plinth and an eaves band. At the front, there is a 2-light window set in a projecting flat-faced surround with a chamfered mullion. The roof is low-pitched and hipped over the front.
At the rear, there is a 2-storey, L-plan house made up of two builds. This section mainly has replaced sash windows with projecting sills, along with a replaced door and 3-light stone-mullioned windows at the re-entrant angle. The rear also features a low-pitched hipped roof with a lateral stack. The cottage is included for its group value with the adjoining farm buildings.
