Description
No. 2 The Green is a row of three cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and consists of two distinct builds. The exterior is made of painted coursed rubble with a pantiled roof and rebuilt brick stacks. The building is single storey with five bays on the left section and three bays on the right.
The left section features a central replaced door set in a chamfered stone surround, topped with a hoodmould. The windows have flat-faced surrounds and hoodmoulds, with paired 12-pane casements on the left and replaced sashes on the right. The right section, which breaks forward, has replaced sashes with projecting sills. The roof is continuous, supported by two end stacks and two ridge stacks. There are two late 20th-century openings with sashes on the left return, and a low added outshut at the rear of the left section.
