Description
30 and 31 The Green are a pair of cottages built in the mid-18th century and altered in the late 19th century. They are constructed from chequer brick with vitreous headers and have a rendered plinth, topped with an old tile roof and brick chimneys. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of two bays. The left bay features a first-floor band course. On the ground floor, there are 19th to 20th-century three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars; the right window has a segmental head while the left has a gauged head and altered jambs. The first floor has horizontal sliding sashes with gauged heads, and above them are blind rectangular panels in the gables, which have 19th to 20th-century wooden bargeboards. There are two flush-panelled doors in the centre that share a tiled lean-to hood supported by shaped brackets. The rear of the cottages has later extensions.
