Description
Manor Farmhouse is a house that incorporates a former garden pavilion, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later extensions from the 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and has slate roofs. The former pavilion is octagonal and consists of two storeys. The ground floor features shallow semi-circular arched recesses, with a blocked door and fanlight at the front, and flanking bays that have paired wooden casements and arched fanlights. The first floor has paired wooden casements and blind window panels. The eaves are dentil, and the roof is slightly tented with a small central leaded dome, a ball finial, and a weathervane. The later 19th-century extension to the rear and left has flush bands of blue brick and a hipped roof. This extension is also two storeys tall and includes one large bay, wooden casements with segmental heads, a half-glazed door to the right with a fanlight, and a tall 20th-century window above. Work began on extensions to the right in 1985. The pavilion is set in the former grounds of Wooburn House, which was demolished in 1963.
