Description
The front range of farm buildings and gin gang, located to the west of Piercebridge Grange Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of rubble painted white and feature pantiled roofs. This long, two-storey structure has a projecting gabled bay on the left end, which includes a large opening with a boarded loading bay above. To the right, there is a seven-window section with a central segmental archway that has boarded double doors, a large 20th-century opening to the left, and an external stone stairway leading to a boarded door in the gabled bay to the right. The first floor has partly-glazed hit-and-miss windows with projecting sills. The roof is low-pitched. The semi-octagonal gin gang, set back on the left return, has rectangular piers, later infill walls, and a semi-pyramidal roof. There are later parallel ranges at the rear of the front range, but these have been altered and are not of special interest. This building is included for its group value.
