Description
The stables, loft, and carriage shed for the Church of St. Michael were built around 1800. They are constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of six bays. There are boarded doors in the second and fourth bays, with the fourth bay featuring a two-pane overlight under a flat stone lintel. Similar flat stone lintels are found above small rectangular two-light windows in the sixth bay and on the first floor. The third ground-floor bay has a horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars beneath a wooden lintel. There are vent slits on the left side and a blocked area to the right of the second door. A flat stone lintel marks the doorway at the left end, which is under a wall that continues with the loft. The right return gable features a hit-and-miss window under a flat stone lintel, and a sash window with glazing bars is positioned above it at the gable peak. There are double boarded vehicle doors in the outshut. The rear elevation includes a full-width one-storey outshut with both double and single boarded doors, along with a wide vehicle entrance that has an altered lintel.
