Description
Biggin Farm Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations. It is built from thinly-rendered sandstone rubble, featuring quoins and a boulder plinth, topped with an asbestos-tiled roof that has rendered gable coping on the right side. The cottage has two storeys and three irregular bays. The central entrance is a flushed door set beneath a flat stone lintel. The windows are late 19th-century sashes with renewed sills and wood lintels, with those on the first floor positioned at the eaves. The left first-floor window is paired with a rendered mullion.
Inside, the cottage features massive chamfered beams and 18th-century cupboards located under a single side flight of stairs in the rear of the right room. The first-floor right room has a timber-studded screen leading to the rear passage. The roof consists of curved principals on tie beams. There is a rear addition from the 20th century, which is not of interest.
