Description

Middle Green Barn and attached farm buildings are located in Mickleton and date from the early to mid-19th century. The structures are built of squared sandstone rubble and feature stone-flagged roofs along with a stone chimney stack. The layout is L-shaped, with the barn and a one-storey range of farm buildings that step down towards the bank, attached to the rear of the left side.

The barn is two stories high and has four bays, with alternating quoins. It features a pair of replaced boarded doors set in a central elliptical archway, which has impost blocks and a projecting keystone. To the left of the archway, there is a boarded opening on the first floor in a flush surround. The barn also has several blocked openings and breathers, and the roof has a coped left gable. The returns include throughstones and breathers, while the gables have pigeon holes arranged in a triangular pattern.

At the rear, the one-storey range has altered and blocked openings. The central block has three bays, coped gables, and a ridge stack with a top band and water tables. There is a short link section to the right and a coal shed to the left.

This building is a prominent feature in the village.
