Description
The barn and attached farm buildings at Gelligarn Farm date from the 19th century. The barn is constructed of rubble stone and features a graded stone-tile roof. It forms the southern side of a yard, with later, lower brick buildings with slate roofs making up the eastern and northern sides, creating a U-shaped layout. The barn has stone segmental-headed openings. On the northern side facing the yard, there is a blocked doorway to the right, followed by superimposed double boarded doors, a boarded door, a replacement boarded door, another blocked doorway, a split boarded door, and a window with a vent at the end. The loft has two openings, with one open to the left and a window with a vent in the center, along with ventilation strips arranged in groups of 1, 3, 1, and 2.
The eastern range features, starting from the right end, a replaced boarded door, a window with a vent, a full-height opening, another window with a vent, replaced double boarded doors, a window, and a split boarded door. The northern range includes a doorway, a window, a wide full-height doorway, and a window with a vent. Further to the left are three pig sties with corrugated asbestos-cement roofs and walled pens (gates are missing), followed by a gabled store with a boarded door and a window, and a brick stack to the right.
The barn has a rendered western gable end with a lean-to. The rear of the barn features, on the left side, three inserted brick elliptical-headed openings for carts, to the right of which are two original blocked segmental-headed windows and a split boarded door. The loft has doorways to the left and right of the center, a window to the left, and three ventilation strips to the right. The rear of the eastern range has an open-fronted cow shelter supported by wooden posts, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The northern range has a single loft opening at the rear. The buildings have not been inspected.
