Description

Bollihope House Farmhouse and the adjoining barn were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from coursed squared sandstone with tooled ashlar dressings and quoins, topped with a stone-flagged roof featuring stone gable copings and moulded kneelers. The farmhouse is two storeys high with four wide bays, while the barn to the left is also two storeys but has two bays.

In the second bay of the farmhouse, there is a half-glazed door, with renewed 12-pane sash windows above and in the flanking bays. A small square window is located in the fourth bay, all set under flat stone lintels. The barn features a boarded door and window. The building has two ridge chimneys and one rear chimney. At the rear, there is a full-width outshut under a catslide roof that is 1½ storeys high, with a central door in a plain stone surround and sash windows with glazing bars, including two smaller sashes directly above. There are rear steps leading to a first-floor loft door, positioned to the right of the ground-floor door, both of which are boarded in stone surrounds. Vegetation obscures much of the front elevation.
