Description

The lime kiln located west of Fine Burn Quarry is likely from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with yellow brick detailing. The structure features iron tie-rod ends and has a high retaining wall built in two sections, which includes segmental arches made of four rows of brick header courses. Inside the left kiln, there is an opening from the hopper, and a brick column has been inserted.
