Description
No. 88 Elvet Bridge is a house that has been converted into a house and shop, dating from the 18th century. It features painted brickwork and a Welsh slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has one bay. The early 20th-century shopfront includes a projecting square window with slender pilasters, a recessed entrance to the right, and fluted end pilasters that support a bracketed dentilled cornice. A two-storey canted bay window is present, featuring sashes, most of which have glazing bars. There is a brick band at the second-floor level, and the steeply-pitched roof has a brick chimney at the right end. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered moulded beam on the ground floor and an enclosed newel stair.
