Description
The walls, railings, and gatepiers located to the south of Thorpe Grange Farmhouse date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from roughly-squared stone with ashlar dressings and feature wrought iron elements. The front wall has chamfered coping that supports spear-head railings, with diagonally-set scroll-topped braces positioned every fifth bay. There are monolith square piers at the central gateway and at the right end. The left return displays a similar gateway, with flat coping that ramps up at the end of the railed section, connecting to a tall rear wall that joins the single-storey wing of Thorpe Grange Farmhouse. A similar wall and railings are present on the right side, along with a gateway featuring domed monolith piers near the farmhouse. This structure is included for its group value.
