Description
The front wall, railings, and gates to Grange Farmhouse date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed squared sandstone and wrought iron, with an overall length of approximately 50 metres and a height of about 1.5 metres. The wall consists of three courses topped with rounded coping. The railings feature scrolled spear-headed finials on the bars and vase-shaped finials on the standards. The gate piers are made of wrought iron, square in section, adorned with scrolled decoration and topped with pyramidal finials that have a leaf motif. The gates are made of two leaves, with bars and dogbars matching the railings, and include curved braces on the lower half, along with a lock and top rails.
