Description

Grange Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick in English bond, with a graduated stone slate roof. The main range is two storeys high and three bays wide, with a lower, two-storey, two-bay service range attached to the left. The front of the main range features a central six-panel door with an overlight, set within a wooden doorcase with a cornice. Flanking the door are canted bays with four-pane sashes. The first floor has four-pane sashes in flush-wood architraves, with stone sills and wedge lintels. The building has an eaves cornice, shaped kneelers, gable coping, and end stacks. The service range has four-pane sashes on both floors and a central ridge stack. The interior of the main range retains original doors, doorcases, a rear staircase with turned balusters and cross beams with cyma chamfer stops.
