Description
This field barn, which includes a byre with a loft, dates from the mid-19th century and is located 130 metres west of The Ashes on Mickleton Greengates Lane. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and features a stone-flagged roof.
The barn is two storeys high and has three bays, with alternating flush quoins. The central elliptical archway contains a pair of boarded doors, which are framed by flush tooled-and-margined jambs, impost blocks, and voussoirs. To the left, there is a single breather, while to the right, there is a Dutch door and a boarded opening on the first floor, both set in flush surrounds. The roof is low-pitched and has coped gables.
