Description
Waen Lock is a lock chamber on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, constructed from brick with intermittent ashlar blocks. It features tooled sandstone copings, although some are missing, and has quoins. There is a rebate for a removed lock gate on the northeast side, with splayed rubble retaining walls extending for about 10 metres beyond, also topped with stone copings. On the southeast side, there is a deep overflow ditch. At the southwest end, there is a rubble weir with splayed retaining walls beyond.
